Many businesses have adopted credit card surcharges as a way to combat the fees associated with transactions paid for with a credit card. With already thin margins in the pharmacy industry, it makes sense that pharmacy owners would be looking for ways to reduce the costs of doing business or make back some of the fees that come out of their bottom line every month. 

There's more to surcharging than putting a transaction percentage or flat fee on every transaction that's paid for with a credit card. If you are doing credit card surcharges, or are considering adding them, there are a few things you need to know about rules and regulations.
