We’ve worked with many pharmacies to get solutions in place to reduce patient contact, while still capturing all of the necessary signatures, collecting payments, etc.

Curbside delivery isn’t a new concept, and we’ve had a recommended workflow for curbside programs for several years. But in today’s environment, those old rules don’t apply in every situation and there is more than one solution to meet your pharmacy curbside needs.

Here’s a closer look at what’s out there:

Wireless signature capture –  This is one of the first solutions we adapted for curbside programs as social distancing and reducing patient contact became a concern for RMS customers. It’s a simple solution that replaces your wired signature capture device with a tablet. You get the transaction ready to go at the pharmacy and then take the device to capture signatures. When paired with a credit card on file or other contactless method of payment, this is an easy to implement option that allows curbside signature capture with minimal infrastructure and process changes. It’s a great option if you don’t have far to go from pharmacy counter to curbside as the clerk does have to initiate each transaction from the till prior to capturing signatures.

Delivery – Generally when you think of delivery, you think of home delivery. Of course many pharmacies are expanding their home delivery programs, but there’s also no reason that deliveries can’t take place curbside. Our curbside delivery workflow means that you can get multiple transactions queued to process and finalize curbside. With this solution, hardware requirements remain minimal and while the workflow changes a bit more, it’s still an easy to use option. And it saves some running back and forth for your staff as well as time for your customers if transactions are queued for signature prior to their arrival at the pharmacy.

Full curbside processing – If you find yourself wanting full transaction capabilities curbside, then going back to the original standby is always an option. Our EvolutionPOSV2 tablet is still an option for any pharmacy that wants to scan product, collect signatures and process payments all on one device. This option just requires wireless connectivity that extends all the way to your curbside pickup area.

We’re here to help you with whatever services you need to implement in your pharmacy as our efforts to provide solutions to keep everyone safe and healthy continue.
