My journey with pharmacy began in 1997 at my hometown pharmacy, Bartley's Discount Pharmacy. What started as an opportunity to work in a pharmacy quickly turned into a passion. Over the next several years, I wore just about every hat imaginable. On any given day, I might be working as a pharmacy technician, helping customers throughout the store, merchandising the front end, or running the cash register. Those experiences taught me that every role in a pharmacy is important, and more importantly, that great customer service is at the heart of everything we do.
In 2002, I became the pharmacy manager and was given a unique opportunity that would ultimately shape the rest of my career. As our pharmacy searched for a POS system to manage both the pharmacy and our 10,000-square-foot front end, the owner entrusted me with evaluating the options and selecting the system we would use. He jokingly told me it would become "my baby." He was right.
After extensive research and several trade shows, I chose RMS. I traveled to Lacey, Washington, for training and returned home eager to learn everything I could. For the next six years, I immersed myself in the software, using it daily to manage pharmacy operations, inventory, ordering, accounts receivable, cash management, reporting, and countless other tasks. RMS became much more than a POS system to me. It became a tool that helped our pharmacy thrive.
When the owner decided to sell the pharmacy to a chain, I knew it was time for a new chapter. While I loved independent pharmacy, I had grown equally passionate about RMS and the impact it could make for pharmacy owners. In 2008, I joined the RMS team and began working with customers from the other side of the counter as an installer, trainer, and support representative.
Today, I have more than 24 years of RMS experience, both as a customer and as a member of the RMS team. Having lived in your shoes, I understand the challenges pharmacies face every day, and I truly enjoy helping customers find solutions, simplify processes, and get the most from their software. Every customer has a different story, and I enjoy being part of their success.
When I'm not working, my greatest joy is my family. My husband, Todd, and I are proud parents of three sons and grandparents to one amazing grandson and twin granddaughters who keep us smiling.
Speaking of travel, Todd and I love exploring new places and creating memories wherever we go. Whether we're traveling with family, spending time with friends, or setting off on an adventure of our own, we believe life is meant to be experienced. There is always something new to discover, and that's one of the reasons I love what I do at RMS. Every day brings new challenges, new customers, and new opportunities to learn.
