Although Star~Plus is designed to run 24/7, while the system is idle, Windows background processes may run that can cause connectivity issues with devices such as the signature pad, receipt printer, etc.

To reduce this risk, the best practice is to close the Till each night to ensure it can connect to all devices when it’s started the next morning. Additionally, best practices suggest closing all Star~Plus applications except the Menu when signing out for the night.
